I was sceptical at first as I'd never heard of Goldfish and also never really dabbled with VoIP beyond Skype, but the whole process has been brilliant. The phones (Grandstream GXP1400), although budget are excellent but, the thing that surprised me more than anything is the call quality and functionality is spot on. How OFS use the service
Objective Financial solutions have two offices, one in Manchester and one in Flintshire, North Wales. Consequently, they have acquired numbering in both area codes (01352 and 0161) through Goldfish.
OFS use their numbers in a variety of different ways:
- As general company numbers, where the number is configured in a hunt group to ring on all VoIP phones.
- As specific direct dial numbers for individual members of staff
- As contact numbers used for particular marketing campaigns or products
Working across multiple locations is made as simple as possible as calls to either office, on any line, can be answered in either location. Some OFS staff regularly work from home offices, allowing them to seamlessly answer and make calls wherever they located on any given day. In addition, the OFS team use the teleconferencing facility to hold internal meetings and client meetings; working as a truly virtual organisation
In order to identify which number / and or line that a call has originally come in on, OFS use our line display feature.
Line display presents the name of the line that your call has come in from on the screen of your VoIP phone. OFS are considering using the Whisper feature for a similar purpose when calls have been forwarded to a mobile out of hours.
OFS are a growing and dynamic company and regularly use the control panel routing wizard to update their call routing in real time to reflect changes in staffing etc.
In order to ensure that important calls are not missed, the out of hours routing feature is used to route calls to a directors mobile outside of normal business hours. The out of hours feature allows Goldfish customers to define their business hours for each day of the week and route calls differently outside of these times. OFS staff finish early on a Friday, so the flexibility to control out of hours on a day by day basis is essential.
Receiving voicemail as .wav attachments using our voicemail to email service is of significant benefit to OFS; allowing staff to pick up voicemails on their blackberry devices whilst out and about.
Another key feature for OFS is the ability to transfer calls between staff members in order to direct customer enquiries effectively.
OFS have a number of their telephone numbers configured to use music whilst ringing and also take advantage of our fax to email service for receiving faxes into their inbox.

We really love the online control panel; which allows us to make real time changes to our call routing, ensuring that we make the most of our resources.
In the early days, we had some real challenges with the quality of our Internet connection, but the support from Goldfish was excellent and we're now experiencing excellent call quality and can't fault the service.
Chris would really like to get the OFS CRM system integrated to the Goldfish dial by URL service so that they can get their CRM system to automatically dial out. We're working with them to help them with the technical side of the integration.
